Meet Birdie.
Birdie is a true scrap quilt at heart — pieced from whatever fabrics were on hand, likely sometime between the 1930s and 1950s. A cheerful teal daisy print ties the whole composition together, weaving between bold plaids, polka dots, delicate stripes, and even a charming handkerchief-style print with eyelet borders and little embroidered-look details. It’s the kind of joyfully mismatched combination that only comes from a maker working with whatever scraps life handed her.
Today Birdie is a hooded, open-front coat with sweet scalloped pocket details and a scalloped hem to match. She’s eclectic, she’s cheerful, and there is truly nothing else like her.
Birdie fits a Medium through XXL and arrives with her handwritten story card and a custom Wolfgang label.
Wolfgang gives once loved and now unused quilts a new life, regardless of their flaws.
One of a kind — when Birdie’s gone, she’s gone.
Disclaimer:
Wolfgang coats are made from genuine antique and vintage quilts — pieces that have lived full lives before becoming something new. They carry the beautiful marks of that history: softness from years of washing, gentle fading, the occasional small repair or imperfection. This is not a flaw — it is the whole point. We give once loved and now unused quilts a new life, regardless of their flaws!
