Handcrafted from a single antique quilt dating to circa 1930s America, Maude is built from a classic basket pattern — one of the most beloved and collectible quilt designs of the Depression era. Basket quilts were made as gifts, symbols of hope and abundance during hard times. Nearly a century later, those same baskets are carried forward in a coat you can actually wear.
The pattern placement on Maude’s back is nothing short of remarkable — the basket blocks form a natural medallion centred perfectly across the shoulders, as though the coat was always meant to be here. The front features a generous shawl collar, self-lined in the quilt’s own soft pink border fabric, framing the face in the most flattering way.
Her palette is pure romance — faded dusty rose and aged cream, soft and timeless.
