On one side, a striking nine-patch checkerboard in faded indigo, charcoal and cream — fabrics almost certainly cut from worn shirting and feed sacks, nothing wasted. Flip her, and Constance becomes something else entirely: a serene, faded blue quilted duster with contrast patchwork pockets.
